Not much going on

Honestly, I thought that I would have had more to write about lately.  But with the end of the holidays and the beginning of school, I simply have not had time to work on any projects.  This weekend, I have only managed to get started on sharpening the iron of my newish Veritas 4 1/2 plane, which I haven't sharpened at all yet.  It was quite capable out of the box, but I prefer the shavings I get after a good sharpening on the 13000 grit stone.

Also, I've been busy with the replacement of some damaged flooring in my old apartment so we don't have to pay their ridiculous fee.  Most of the damage isn't from us, but considering how cheap laminate is, my time is better spent repairing floors than arguing. However, repair time is extracted from project time, so...  Unfortunately, at this point in my life, I have a lot more time than money.

So, what's next for my tiny workshop?  Well, I'm going to build a massive shelf/recycling station for the kitchen with some really big pieces of lumber.  These beams are 100mm by 100mm, so like 4x4s.  I'm trying to learn how to use sketch up, and once I figure it out I'll give this project a go on it.

That's it for now.

Peace and sawdust,
Ted
